edaBarCamp -- the next generation

'edaBarCamp -- the next generation' will be on 11./12. December 2017 at Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH), Institute of Microlectronic Systems (IMS), Hannover, Germany.

You are engaged in Microelectronics, Embedded Systems and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and looking for inspiration in your profession? If you are open for a new event format, offering an exchange of new ideas with colleagues then you should join the next edaBarCamp in Hannover!

In order to present and substantially discuss conceptual ideas and results of our ongoing scientific work, we invite researchers from the area of electronic design automation (EDA) for microelectronic and embedded systems to an open barcamp event.

The edaBarCamp offers an open space and is detached from a formal event structure. As a participant you do not only take part. You build the program and you propose, lead and contribute to sessions. There we will interactively propose, exchange and jointly develop approaches, innovations and solutions. By meeting and discussing on a par with each other, your individual work and interests will benefit from the open expert community.

What is edaBarCamp?
The idea of our edaBarCamp: In open sessions everyone has the opportunity to contribute their own topics and to participate and to enrich the other sessions by her or his thoughts and ideas. For that purpose, each participant can suggest sessions on his topics in advance and during the event. Topics with common interests are then identified and scheduled by all participants at the beginning of the event. There is no program committee. All participants vote and decide the agenda in an open plenary meeting. The agenda of each individual session is then commonly decided by the session-owners and their participants. Everybody is asked to become an active participator, not just a passive listener. According to your interests you can organize your sessions as interactive workshops, short 'hackathons', brainstorming, presentations and tutorials as well as open-minded question- & feedback rounds. To memorize and exchange the results each session is asked to commonly document their work during the session. Finally, the joint documentation will be made available to the participants after the event.
The documentation of the first two edaBarCamps is available at www.edabarcamp.de.

About edacentrum
The edacentrum is an independent institution dedicated to the promotion of research and development in the area of electronic design automation (EDA). Founded by the German microelectronics industry, it was funded during its early years by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The primary role of edacentrum is to initiate, evaluate and supervise industry-driven R&D projects, and to offer a comprehensive spectrum of services to support all matters concerning EDA development. Moreover, by encouraging EDA cluster research projects and EDA networks and by providing a communication platform for the EDA community, edacentrum brings together and reinforces the EDA expertise of universities and research institutes. The edacentrum seeks to increase awareness among upper management, the public and the political arena, of the critical importance of design automation for solving complex system and semiconductor problems, especially those associated with micro- and nanoelectronics.

Hilfe
