“Our Economy Post-Covid” — Hans-Werner Sinn Joins HHL Expert Talk

HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management invites the public to a virtual conversation with Hans-Werner Sinn, perhaps Germany’s best-known economist, who served as President of the ifo Institute until 2016. The discussion will focus on the question of what politics could have done better in the pandemic from an economic perspective and what challenges society will face once the coronavirus-related restrictions are lifted.

HHL Professor Wilhelm Althammer of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe Chair of Macroeconomics will ask Professor Sinn questions such as: “How great is the risk that we will see a return of inflation due to pent-up demand and an extremely expansionary monetary policy? How long should we expect zero interest rates? How should we deal with the increase in national debt and do we need new taxes?”

The virtual talk will take place on Wednesday, May 19, live from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. via Zoom. Participation is open to all interested parties.
The event will be held in German.
