SpinLab – The HHL Accelerator supports startups from all over Germany for more than one year now. Just recently, the third class of SpinLab – The HHL Accelerator started.
SpinLab – The HHL Accelerator supports startups from all over Germany for more than one year now. And the success of the accelerator program, which is organised in cooperation with HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, is remarkable. The startups were able to win nine awards and prices, secure several funding rounds and got accepted to many other support programs and grants. Many renowned partners and customers could be convinced to work with those startups. Moreover, currently the alumni startup Ekoio collects money through a crowdinvesting platform: https://www.seedmatch.de/startups/ekoio.
By now more than 50 people work at SpinLab, which currently opened an additional 670 square meter office space in the typical industrial style next to SpinLab to house alumni startups. Through that, a unique community of technology founder was established and grows further.
The following startups were selected as third class of SpinLab – The HHL Accelerator:
ANIMUS is a digital service-solution for the housing industry and living quarters, that optimises the communication, service and information between the residents and the housing administration. The Resident gets more of what he values the most: his own time. The housing companies not only profit from an improvement in services to its customers but achieve a process optimisation and cost reduction through digitisation too – win-win in perfection. http://www.animus.de
Binee is tackling one of humanities biggest and most complex challenges: waste. With its user centered approach and smart solutions, the first step is to collect old electronic devices in consumer electronics stores. http://www.binee.com
Matchwerk enables companies to digitalize their existing advisory process. Matchwerk’s products are striving to improve customer experience on websites, apps and voice interfaces. The sophisticated API with its knowledge base acts as a one-stop-solution for service providers to digitalize their existing advisory process. As usual, there is a Demo Day around the half time of the six-month accelerator program at June 14, 2016.
About SpinLab – The HHL Accelerator:
SpinLab – The HHL Accelerator supports innovative founding projects with the implementation and growth of their ventures. In addition to intensive coaching, the founding teams will also benefit from a high-caliber mentoring program as well as numerous contacts to investors, established companies and other founders. They can use a co-working office with state-of-the art equipment on the premises of Spinnerei, an old cotton mill now serving as a center for creativity, and will gain access to various technologies offered by partners. Even after completing the program, the startup teams are supported in their recruiting efforts, they can plan their expansion through an international exchange program and they get the opportunity to rent office space next to SpinLab. The founders will be able to use all offers free of charge when they are accepted for the six-month program.

HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management as a hotbed for entrepreneurs
With over 150 start-ups established by HHL alumni over the past 18 years, Germany's top address for young managers has also developed into an incubator for company creation. The founders' entrepreneurial commitment has created more than 2,500 jobs already, over 1,100 of which are located in the Leipzig region alone. In 2013 and 2014, HHL reached one of three first places for the best entrepreneurial universities in Germany in the Start-Up Radar ranking published by Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (Founders' Association of German Science) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BWMi).
