Research Synthesis 2019: Travel Grants and Free Registration for Ten PhD or Master Students

    ZPID - Leibniz Institute for Psychology Information has a special offer for ten PhD or master students regarding our Research Synthesis in Psychology 2019 Conference which includes a pre-conference symposium on "Big Data in Psychology": free registration (worth EUR 250.-) plus a travel grant amounting to EUR 250.-. The conference is taking place in Dubrovnik, Croatia, May 27-31, 2019.

    The overall aim of Research Synthesis 2019 is to address methodological advances in the area of systematic reviews and meta-analysis. Moreover, hotspot topics addressed with the aid of research synthesis methods in all subfields of psychology and related areas are also being presented.

    Invited keynote speakers include:

    - Christina Bergmann, Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics: "Dynamically aggregating evidence in community-augmented meta-analyses"
    - Larry Hedges, Northwestern University: "Meta-analytic perspectives when studying replication"
    - Terri Pigott, Loyola University Chicago: "Power analysis in meta-analysis"
    - Wolfgang Viechtbauer, Maastricht University: "The R package metafor: Past, present and future"

    The overall aim of the pre-conference symposium on "Big Data in Psychology" is to present innovative methods and applications using big data in psychology.

    Invited keynote speakers include:

    - Ross Jacobucci, University of Notre Dame: "Flexible Specification of Large Structural Equation Models with Regularization"
    - Joop Hox, Utrecht University: "Computational social and behavioral science methodology: Current issues in using big data"

    Registration is open, the Early bird fee applies until April 5.

    ZPID offers free registration (worth EUR 250.-) plus a travel grant amounting to EUR 250.- for ten PhD or master students.

    The conditions:
    Interested PhD or master students write us a few lines explaining
    - why they like to participate in the conference
    - what topic they are working on
    - and how far they are with their work.

    A jury of three ZPID researchers will review the applications and decide who will benefit from the support.

    The travel grant will be paid after the conference and provided that the person has actually participated in the conference.

    PhD or master students who have already registered for the conference may apply for the travel grant as well.

    April 15, 2019
