In examination year 2013 (winter semester 2012/2013 and summer semester 2013), roughly 436,400 graduates obtained a higher education degree at German institutions of higher education. Compared with the previous year (413,300), the number of higher education graduates increased the12th time in a row (+6%). The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that 395,100 German and 41,300 foreign citizens passed the relevant final exams.
