16th International Symposium on District Heating and Cooling at HafenCity University Hamburg

From September 9 to 12, 2018, HafenCity University Hamburg (HCU) will host the 16th International Symposium on District Heating and Cooling (DHC2018). The symposium, which will take place in Hamburg for the first time, is the worldwide meeting place for district heating and district cooling experts from science and industry. The DHC2018 offers solutions, innovations and best practice examples that make district energy a cornerstone of a sustainable energy future.

Topics presented at the symposium include urban energy systems, planning and development, resource efficiency and environmental performance, key elements in district heating and cooling systems, scetor coupling/hybrig energy networks. Furthermore the symposium will discuss topics like digitalization, policy and regulation, customer relations and market issues as well as flexibility in district heating and cooling. The program includes more than 80 lectures and presentations, 250 participants are expected. Keynote speakers are: Prof. Henrik Lund (Aalborg University, Denmark), Prof. Bruno Lacarriére, (IMT Atlantique, France) and Paul Voss (Managing Director of the international network Euroheat & Power). In addition to oral and poster presentations by researchers from around the world, there will be a panel discussion on the future of district heating and district cooling. Exhibition booths of industry representatives as well as network events complete the program.

The DHC2018 is organized by a local organizing committee at the HCU Hamburg, headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ingo Weidlich, the AGFW (the Energy Efficiency association for Heat, Cool, and CHP) and the International Energy Agency District Heating and Cooling program (IEA DHC). Since more than three decades, the International District Heating Symposium (DHC) has been one of the most important international events for the exchange of insights from industrial and academic research in the field of district heating and district cooling. In 2016, the biennial symposium was held in Seoul, South Korea.

The registration for the symposium is possible until the end of August. For more information and news, please visit the official website: https://www.dhc2018.eu

Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
