Nature Communications veröffentlicht Studie von internationalem Forschungsteam um Michael J. Bojdys
Der IRIS Nachwuchsgruppenleiter Michael J. Bojdys und sein internationales Team haben gemeinsam mit Forschenden vom Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the CAS (Prag, Tschechische Republik) herausgefunden, wie eine bestimmte Klasse organischer Materialien viel stabiler sein kann als bislang bekannt. Diese COFs (covalent organic frameworks) ermöglichen es, organische Bausteine in Festkörper einzubringen. Was bisher nur in der Theorie möglich war, kann nun auch praktisch umgesetzt werden. Vorher waren diese Materialien chemisch instabil, verfielen sobald sie in Kontakt mit Säure oder Basen kamen. Die neu entwickelten Materialien sind resistenter und damit viel besser einsetzbar.
Der Artikel "Real-time optical and electronic sensing with a β-amino enone linked, triazine-containing 2D covalent organic framework", in dem die Forschergruppe zeigen konnte, wie das neue Gestaltungsprinzip funktioniert, wurde jetzt für die Veröffentlichung in der renommierten Fachzeitschrift Nature Communications ausgewählt. Die Ergebnisse sind ein vielversprechender Ansatz für die Entwicklung von Sensoren und Schaltern.
