Open Campus Day at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences with Street Food Festival in Kleve

Gabriele Stegers Stabstelle Strategische Kommunikation und Marketing
Hochschule Rhein-Waal

What can I study at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences? Which lectures can local residents attend? What are its scientists currently researching? Find answers to these questions and more at the Open Campus Day event in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort. The event has been organised for the first time around a common theme, Sustainability, and promises an interesting day of learning, fun and discovery. Another first is the Street Food Festival in Kleve, which will run parallel to the event all weekend long.

Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, June 5, 2018: It’s that time of year again: Open Campus Day is back! On June 9, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences will be offering its exciting open door event to the public in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort. Residents, future and current students, alumni and businesses from around the region are cordially invited to explore both campus locations inside and out. Visitors can peek behind the curtain at our lecture halls, laboratories and library holdings, try their luck at many interactive games and booths, and converse with our educators, students and support staff about ongoing research or study opportunities at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.

This year’s event is dedicated to the topic of sustainability. “As the first Fairtrade University in North Rhine-Westphalia, this topic is important to us as a university that strives for ecologically sustainable operations. It’s also in line with the Strategic Development Plan, in which we’ve enshrined our broad understanding of sustainability with numerous objectives for the future,” commented Dr Heide Naderer, President of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, on the choice of event theme. Under this banner, the University will be presenting its faculties, degree programmes and research accomplishments. Visitors can gain new insight into the topic of sustainability through a series of interesting talks and discussions combined with entertaining demonstrations and presentations on sustainability-related topics. At the same time, a series of exciting experiments and excursions are planned for our junior scientist visitors. The event will feature musical accompaniment and refreshments for visitors too. In addition to the traditional “Schwanenritter Race” (Swan Knight Race) in Kleve, this year’s event promises a range of exciting and interesting premieres:
