HHL Dean Andreas Pinkwart Honored by Kent University

    "Innovation in Academia Award for Science and Business" by Kent University honors accomplishments in Europe and the USA

    Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, the Dean of HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management where he also holds the Stiftungsfonds Deutsche Bank Chair for Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, is the laureate of this year's Innovation in Academia Award for Science and Business of UK's Kent University. The judges particularly emphasized the work of Pinkwart as a scientist, his sustainable influence in the field of higher education in Europe and the United States as well as the level of appreciation from his colleagues. Prof. Dr. Pinkwart will accept the award during a ceremony in the British Embassy in Athens on May 12, 2017.

    With its Innovation in Academia Awards and ceremonies held in Los Angeles and Athens, Kent University recognizes the pioneers in higher education who are currently at the top of their field. Besides Prof. Dr. Pinkwart, one of the other laureates includes marketing expert and HHL honorary doctor Prof. Philip Kotler, Ph.D., from Northwestern University in Illinois in the United States.

    Andreas Pinkwart (born 1960) is a former politician from the Free Democratic Party (FDP) and economist and has served as Dean of HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management since 2011 where he also holds the Stiftungsfonds Deutsche Bank Chair for Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship. From 2005 to 2010, he was the Minister for Innovation, Science, Research and Technology as well as Deputy Prime Minister of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. He had previously held a chair for business administration at the University of Siegen and was a Member of the Bundestag, the German national parliament, between 2002 and 2005.

    HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management is a university-level institution and ranks amongst the leading international business schools. The goal of the most venerable business school in German-speaking Europe is to educate effective, responsible and entrepreneurially minded leaders.
