2017 Universum Talent Survey confirms popularity of HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. Outstanding: Career Service and starting salary.

Students from HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management show an above average entrepreneurial and international mindset, stand out for their distinct leadership potential and firmly trust their own abilities. This is confirmed once again by a survey conducted by Universum Communications, which asked about 13,000 business students about their experiences at their respective universities, employer preferences and career ideas.
On a scale from 1 to 10, the Leipzig students rated an average 8.7 for how pleased they are with their business school. Consequently, the recommendation rate is very high among HHLers. On a scale from 1 to 10, it is 9.0. According to the 2017 Universum Talent Survey, HHL students are particularly content with the services offered by the school's Career Service (9.1 points). Director Martina Beermann, who also holds a degree in psychology, says, "At HHL as a personal university, we attach immense importance on needs-based, individual career counseling. Thanks to our close contact with the world's leading career advisers, we work with the best and most effective methods." Therefore, the Leipzig business students list individual career consulting (résumé check, individual preparation for job interviews, etc.), networking opportunities through company presentations on campus as well as the support for individual strategic career planning as the three most important services provided by the HHL Career Service. The latest findings of Universum Communications also stand out for the HHL students' preferences with regard to their future position in the company, the industry and the salary to which they aspire. In contrast to all interviewed business students, an above average number of HHL students strive for a position as an executive in senior management, intellectual challenges (62 percent) and entrepreneurial activity (58 percent).
The academic and practically-oriented management program and the various support measures from the Career Service are what opens doors for them in the best possible manner. Companies from the fields of management and strategic consulting in addition to successful HHL alumni rank among the most represented recruiters on the HHL campus. This is not without reason: 70 percent of the Leipzig management students prefer this industry, followed by the automotive industry (44 percent) and the financial sector (22 percent).
An HHL education and the support from the Career Service pay off. When starting their professional life, graduates who hold a Master's degree from HHL make an average of EUR 61,000. This salary is almost EUR 20,000 more than what all business students interviewed by Universum Communications expect to make.
