InnoHealth Australia is the current initiative as constituent part of the collaborative project „International Research Marketing“ under the umbrella brand Research in Germany. The initiative aims to connect the Australian and the German health-care sector – especially enabling an active exchange of high-tech competencies and research excellence as well as discussing new cooperation ideas and research perspectives, giving attendees from both countries the ability to learn more about each other in terms of culture, research and business opportunities. The InnoHealth Australia initiative has launched with a “Call for Ideas and Innovations”

Led by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, InnoHealth Australia is the current initiative as constituent part of the collaborative project „International Research Marketing“ under the umbrella brand Research in Germany.

The InnoHealth Australia initiative has launched in summer 2017 with a “Call for Ideas and Innovations” (application period 15th July – 15th December 2017), which addresses the German health-care community. In particular, the targeted audience are tandems consisting of representatives from Fraunhofer Institutes as well as representatives from the German Mittelstand (small and medium sized enterprises plus start-up companies respectively), who develop application-oriented technologies, products and/or processes and intend to convince experts in the field of advantages of their invention and/or innovation.

Amongst all participating tandems, a total of 10 finalists will be selected by a group of experts and will then have the opportunity to present their ideas and innovations at the InnovationPlatform to an exclusive group of health-care stakeholders in Melbourne, Australia from 10th - 11thApril 2018. This 2-day event will set the stage for intense networking with prospective research, business and cooperation partners with the aim to discuss and generate ideas for implementation activities, business contracts or research cooperation.

Before this event, the 2-day InnovationWorkshop from 1st - 2nd March 2018 in Munich will prepare the German InnoHealth Australia tandems for their trip to Australia in terms of market and sector specific know-how, intercultural understanding, innovation thinking and presentation skills.

From 5th - 9th November 2018 the InnoHealth Australia initiative will give another chance to foster the relations between the German and the Australian health-care stakeholders, as a group of up to 30 top Australian researchers (previously evaluated by an Australian and German team of health-care experts) will be invited to visit Germany. This 1-week InnovationTour will offer the Australian group of researchers an interesting program by visiting relevant universities, institutions and companies but also cultural events. Both groups – German tandems as well as Australian researchers – will be actively integrated in this visit.

InnoHealth Australia is the follow-up of the successful pilot initiative InnoMine Chile that just ended in June 2017 with a promising outlook for both parties – German as well as Chilean mining research and business stakeholders.
