From October 27-29, Berlin will again be the capital of global health. The World Health Summit, one of the world’s leading strategic forums for global health, will draw 300 speakers and 2,500 participants from 100 countries, including over 10 ministers from around the world and the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO). Climate change and health will be one of the summit’s central topics.
World Health Summit speakers are leading experts from science, politics, business, and civil society, including:

The impact of climate change on health will be an area of focus this year. Other topics in the 2019 program include: improving health systems in Africa and around the world, finding solutions to antibiotic resistance, digital health, and strategies for implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The World Health Summit is held under the patronage of Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, and Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission. Founded at Charité in 2009, the summit takes place annually in Berlin.
