Die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer werden sich unter anderem mit mobilen Breitbandnetzen, Satellitenkommunikation und der Sicherheit in mobilen Netzen beschäftigen. Das Spektrum der Vorträge reicht von der "Mobile City Bremen" über mögliche Verhaltensveränderungen von Touristen, die einen elektronischen Tour-Guide benutzen bis hin zur Standortwahl von UMTS-Basisstationen und dem wireless Servicemanagement der Infrastruktur in Fahrzeugen zur Mauterfassung.
Die Fachtagung "Wireless Communication and Information" ist bereits die dritte Veranstaltung dieser Art an der FHTW, wo mehrere Arbeitsgruppen in verschiedenen Projekten zur kabellosen Kommunikation forschen. Schwerpunkte sind die Entwicklung multimedialer Dienste für mobile Endgeräte und die drahtlose Videokommunikation.
