idw Award for 2011's best Press Releses: the Winners
Three press offices have been awarded the idw Award for Science Communications for the best press releases of 2011. Much in contrast to last year, this time all three awards went to Germany. Please find full details in our press release (German text only): https://idw-online.de/de/news470336 idw Award for Science Communicationidw transports an average of 20,000 press releases yearly of its member organizations such as universities and other scientific institutions. In order to foster excellence in Communications, idw awards the idw Award for Science Communication to press releases that distinguish themselves by their professional quality, outstanding news value and scientific importance (quality, relevance, originality). The winner will receive 2,000 € and a badge to be installed publicly which makes the achievement permanently visible. The second will receive 1,000 €, the third 500 €. An expert jury will select the winners. The prize is awarded to a press office, not to an individual. It is to be used for further strengthening of quality in Communications, and will be presented to the winners at idw's annual meeting of members in March, 2012. idw Award for Science Communication 2012
