Im Jahr 2005 wurde anlässlich des 100. Geburtstages von Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans Lorenz das Hans Lorenz Symposium für Baugrunddynamik und Spezialtiefbau ins Leben gerufen. Das Symposium findet jährlich im Oktober statt und soll ein Forum sein, in dem der Stand der Forschung und Praxis sowie innovative Entwicklungen auf dem Gebiet der Baugrunddynamik und des Spezialtiefbaus vorgestellt und diskutiert werden. Im Rahmen des Symposiums wird auf Einladung ein exponierter Wissenschaftler und Ingenieur die "Hans Lorenz Vorlesung" halten.
