Anlass der Ausstellung, welche am Geburtstag Martin Luthers (1483 - 1546) eröffnet wird, ist die Übernahme von 379 wertvollen Drucken aus der Gräflich zu Lynarschen Sammlung in Lübbenau als Depositum. Thematisch werden die Anfänge und die Durchsetzung der Reformation, ihre Befürworter und Gegner, die Verbreitung der neuen Religion, die Etablierung der reformatori-schen Gedanken in den Gemeinden sowie die Reformation im Spiegel ihrer Zeit aufgegriffen. Zugleich wird die Sammlungstätigkeit der Grafen zu Lynar gewürdigt.
