Im Rahmen der Ringvorlesung "Was ist Religion", die Teil der "Templeton Research Lectures" Frankfurt/Main ist und von Seiten des Instituts für Evangelische Theologie der Justus-Liebig-Universität die Auftaktveranstaltung für die Jubiläumsfeiern aus Anlass des 400-jährigen Bestehens der Universität Gießen darstellt, findet am Dienstag den 21. November um 18 c.t. der Vortrag "I, Cyborg. The impact of the emerging Cyborg-Technology on our Self-Image" statt.
In der Cyborg-Technologie geht es um die Interaktion von Mensch und Maschine bis hin zur Ersetzung biologischen Substrats durch Elektronik (Gehirnzellen durch Siliziumchips). Der Referent, Prof. Kevin Warwick, ist Professor für Künstliche Intelligenz an der University of Reading, London, und einer der weltweit führenden Forscher in diesem Bereich. Er informiert über den aktuellen Stand der Forschungen.
