Während der Doppelpräsidentschaft in der G-8 und der EU trägt Deutschland besondere Verantwortung für den Kampf gegen Armut. Deutschland kann seine Rolle nutzen und einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Stärkung nationaler Programme gegen Armut in Afrika leisten.
Jeffrey D. Sachs hat seine akademische Arbeit der Armutsbekämpfung gewidmet und tritt für die UN Millenium Development Goals ein. Im Jahr 2005 bezeichnete ihn das TIME Magazine als einen der einflussreichsten Personen auf diesem Gebiet. Er ist Autor des Bestsellers "The End of Poverty".
Vortrag und Diskussion sind in englischer Sprache. Im Anschluss laden wir Sie zu einem Stehempfang ein.
