Ion implantation beyond the 1st monolayer up to several µm is a versatile method. It is situated at the junction between plasma physics, ion-solid interaction, surface physics and solid state physics. Modern applications include - among others - shallow junctions and functional surfaces. In combination with ion assisted deposition processes, sophistically tailored coatings are possible.
At the same time, ion extraction and implantation directly from a plasma allows additional control parameters. Thus, it is a flexible and effective method for modifying large surfaces even of complex geometries. Beside fundamental investigations, many applications in the laboratory scale and even in industry are currently under development.
The programm includes 9 sessions (from Monday Morning to Thursday morning) with invited talks and oral presentations. A poster session is scheduled for Monday afternoon in conjunction with the Industry Exhibition.
Main topics:
* Simulation and Modelling

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
