Seit November letzten Jahres findet an unserer Universität eine fachübergreifende Ringvorlesung statt unter dem Thema "To Boldly Go ... Star Trek und die Wissenschaften". Jede Woche wird eine andere Fachrichtung Aspekte ihrer Arbeit mit Star Trek verknüpfen und so den Studierenden und dem Greifswalder Publikum Einblicke in die Vielfältigkeit von Studium und Lehre an der Greifswalder Univesität mit Spaß eröffnen.
