Im Hinblick auf aktuelle und künftige Klimawechsel ist die Paläoklimaforschung, die Erforschung des Klimas vergangener Zeiten, in den Blickpunkt des Interesses gerückt. Die Erkenntnisse, die Klimaarchive vermitteln, werden durch die Ergebnisse mit Rechenmodellen des Klimas verstehbar.
Prof. Dr. Gerrit Lohmann erläutert in seinem Vortrag, welche Methoden eingesetzt werden, wie Daten und Modelle ineinander greifen und zu welchen wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen das führt.
