"Fuelling the Climate" besteht aus einem wissenschaftlichen Symposium sowie einer begleitenden Ausstellung, die sich zusätzlich an die allgemeine Öffentlichkeit in Norddeutschland sowie insbesondere auch an kleine und mittlere Unternehmen mit Interesse an Biokraftstoffen richtet. Gemäß dem Motto "Fuelling the Climate" (Tanken für das Klima) präsentieren die Veranstalter am 26./27. Juni 2008 einen umfangreichen Einblick in die Thematik, wie Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Politik in Europa schon heute den Herausforderungen des Klimawandels begegnen.
Im Programm vertreten sind neben europäischen Vertretern (Joint Research Centre der Europäischen Kommission, European Biofuels Platform, European Biomass Industry Association, Stadt Graz etc.) nationale Experten aus Industrie (Shell, Verbio, Choren, Opel etc.), Wissenschaft, Politik und Verwaltung (Bundesministeriums für Umwelt, Naturschutz und Reaktorsicherheit (BMU), FHH/Behörde für Stadtentwicklung und Umwelt, HAW Hamburg).
