The CIGR (International Commission of Agricultural Engineering) Section VI (Postharvest Technology and Process Engineering) deals with the engineering principles and technologies in postharvest and processing of agri-food products.
It is devoted to follow the trends, promote the advancement and enhance the dissemination and transfer of technology in postharvest and processing at a global scale.
The CIGR Section VI together with the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering Potsdam-Bornim, Dept. for Horticultural Engineering, is organizing the 5th International Technical Symposium on Monitoring Technology in Bioprocesses and Food Quality Management in Potsdam, Germany on August 31 to Sept 2, 2009.
The symposium will feature a series of presentations and discussion in plenary, scientific and poster sessions, as well as informal gatherings to highlight most recent developments in food and bioprocess technology.
As a satellite-meeting the 1st international workshop within a series of 15 so far national workshops on computer image analysis in agriculture will be held in Potsdam. The workshop focusus on application of imaging techniques and spectroscopic methods in agriculture. These emerging technologies will be increasingly used for monitoring pre- and post-harvest processes. Appropriate solutions for agricultural applications are scarce, however. For these specific needs suitable solutions need to be developed in close cooperation between targeted basic research and industry.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
