Sandra Harding ist Professorin für Social Sciences and Comparative Education an der UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Sciences. Feministische und Postkoloniale Theorie, Epistemologie, Forschungsmethoden und Wissenschaftstheorie sind die zentralen Inhalte ihrer Forschung und Lehre. Zu ihren bekanntesten Publikationen gehören: "Das Geschlecht des Wissens: Frauen denken die Wissenschaft neu" (1991); "Is Science Multicultural?: Postcolonialisms; Feminisms, and Epistemologies" (1998); "Feministische Wissenschaftstheorie. Zum Verhältnis von Wissenschaft und sozialem Geschlecht" (1999). Sandra Harding war von 1969 bis 1999 Direktorin am UCLA Center for the Study of Women. Außerdem war sie von 2000 bis 2005 Mitherausgeberin der Zeitschrift "Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society". In ihrem Vortrag wird Sandra Harding zu ihrem aktuell erscheinenden Buch "Sciences from Below: Feminisms, Postcolonialisms, and Modernities" (2008) sprechen.
