Nach Leuven 2000 und Sydney 2004 findet das 3. Symposium Postharvest UNLIMITED 2008 vom 4.-7. November 2008 in Berlin statt. Zentrales Thema des Symposiums ist die Qualitätssicherung bei Obst und Gemüse in der Wertschöpfungskette.
Das wissenschaftliche Programm umfasst 55 Vorträge und mehr als 90 Poster zu den Bereichen:
1. Verbesserung der agri-food-Kette hinsichtlich Qualität, Gesundheit und Sicherheit;
2. Nachernte-Physiologie und Metabolomics: die Interaktion von Nachernte-Szenarien mit biochemischen und physiologischen Aspekten und Prozessen;
3. Alternative Methoden zur Verbesserung von shelf life und Sicherheit;
4. Nicht-destruktive Methoden zur Qualitätsbestimmung; und
5. Modellierung als Instrument für Integration und Management der gesamten Kette.
Das Symposium wird organisiert vom Leibniz-Institut für Agrartechnik Potsdam-Bornim (ATB) in enger Zusammenarbeit mit der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
Die Veranstaltung wird vom der EU kofinanziert.
