This meeting is taking place to celebrate Prof. Volker Diehl's 70th birthday and his life-time achievement in the field of Hodgkin Lymphoma. For his work he was awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz this September by the German government, which is one of the highest national recognitions.
As we all know, Volker Diehl has made a stunning career, both as researcher in the biology of Hodgkin Lymphoma and as founder and former chairman of the German Hodgkin Study Group (GHSG). He clearly envisioned that improvements in this usually fatal malignancy would only be possible in the context of prospective randomized trials paralleled by scientific research projects. Today, the GHSG is in its 6th generation of clinical trials and has just opened the 18th large prospectively randomized study, HD18. In addition, numerous phase-I and phase-II studies were conducted. More than 15000 Hodgkin patients have been treated in GHSG trials with more than 400 centers contributing here in Germany and countries such as the Czech Republic, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Austria, Denmark and others. Volker Diehl has always played a pivotal role in the GHSG. His work has resulted in important achievements in the treatment of Hodgkin Lymphoma and will continue to do so in the years to come.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
