3. Green Week Scientific Conference (MACE) Multi-Level Processes of Integration and Disintegration

The Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Central and Eastern Europe (IAMO) together with its partners within the Marie-Curie Programme, the Institute for Agricultural Economics and Social Sciences of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Council for Tropical and Subtropical Agricultural Research (ATSAF) will conduct the Third Green Week Scientific Conference
The conference will provide a special forum for eligible researchers to build contacts with their peers from across Europe and leading researchers. The third Green Week Scientific Conference will concentrate on the processes of integration and disintegration in the Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) on different scales and focusing on the overall rural sector with a crosscutting perspective. Drivers and barriers of change, impacts and patterns of transition will be discussed

Junior researchers, engaged in post-graduate or post-doctoral studies from EU, Associated States, as well as third countries are invited to present and discuss their research projects and findings.
Conference Topics:
§ Changes in landscape ecologies, cross-border biodiversity conservation efforts
§ EU-enlargement and integration of CEE into international markets
§ Multifunctionality of agriculture
§ Multi-level governance, institutional adaptation and implementation capacities
§ Rural development, poverty, migration and cultural diversity

Call for Papers
Abstracts and grant applications will go through peer review and have to be submitted electronically no later than 15th October 2008
Notification of acceptance for paper abstracts - 30th October 2008
- Deadline for submission of full papers - 20th December 2008
The conference participation fee is 75 Euro
The European Community provides limited financial support to eligible participants, which covers parts of their travel, accommodation and subsistence costs including the fee for conference participation. Members of the EU 27 and Associated States may apply for funding. For a limited number of participants from other countries as well as Germany funding is also available
