Im Rahmen der Vortragsreihe "Faszination Evolution" spricht Prof. Dr. Klaus Fischer am 28. Mai 2009 im Hörsaal Zoologie über die Evolutionstheorie.
Die Darwinsche Evolutionstheorie stellt auch 150 Jahre nach dem epochalen Werk "On the origin of species" das zentrale Fundament der gesamten modernen Biologie dar. Darüber hinaus revolutionierte sie das Weltbild der gesamten denkenden Menschheit. Trotz dieser herausragenden Bedeutung wird die Evolutionstheorie neuerdings verstärkt durch religiöse Fundamentalisten in Zweifel gezogen. Diese Entwicklung nahm in den USA ihren Anfang und erreicht nun zunehmend auch Europa. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird zunächst definiert, was unter Evolution zu verstehen ist. Anschließend wird anhand verschiedener Beispiele dargelegt, dass die Evolution ein wissenschaftlich belegbares Faktum darstellt.
