Menschen sind weder Mörder noch Retter. Sie werden dazu, immer wieder fällt beides in einer Person zusammen. Entsprechend greifen psychologisierende Ansätze oder solche, die sich der individuellen Sozialisation widmen zur Erklärung des einen oder des anderen Verhaltens zu kurz. Beruhend auf Fällen unterschiedlicher Provenienz - Algerien, China und Tibet, rechtsextreme Gewalt, Holocaust - rekonstruiert der Sozialpsychologe welche Faktorenbündel das jeweilige Verhalten hervorbringen.
