Desweiteren wird mit bundesweiten Vertretern aus Hochschulen, mit Politikern und Wissenschaftlern über Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten in der Hochschulmedizin und Strukturierung und Organisation der Lehre diskutiert. Eine Podiumsdiskussion und eine Veranstaltung zum Thema "Souveränität- oder Einbindung der Hochschulmedizin" sind Teil der Tagung. Teilnehmer sind u.a. zu Vortägen mit dem inhaltlichen Schwerpunkt "Universitäre und außeruniversitäre Forschungsnetzwerke in der Medizin" eingeladen. Am Ende der Tagung findet die Verleihung der Adolf-Schmidt-Medaille statt.
