Wissenschaftler der TFH Wildau, des Max-Bergmann-Zentrums für Biomaterialien, Dresden, des Max-Planck-Instituts für Kolloid- und Grenzflächenforschung, Potsdam, und der Fachhochschule Kaiserslautern werden über ihre neuesten Erkenntnisse bei der Modifikation von biologischen Oberflächen mittels Nanopartikeln referieren. Die Nano(bio)technologie ermöglicht es zum Beispiel, technische Oberflächen mit Biomolekülen bzw. ganzen Zellen zu kombinieren. Daraus entstehen unter anderem neue Messwerkzeuge für die moderne Bioanalytik. Darüber hinaus eignen sich nano- und mikrotechnologische Verfahren zur Herstellung biotechnologischer Mikroreaktoren und kompletter "Minilaboratorien" auf einem Chip.
