Abstract: An account of the chemistry of annelated azaphospholes investigated in our research group during last decade is summarized. Importance of theoretical calculations in understanding mechanistic aspects of different synthetic approaches to these heterocycles is highlighted. Aromaticity and structural aspects of these compounds has been confirmed by carrying out density functional theory (DFT) lecel calculations. On account of the presence of different functionalities in the azaphosphole ring, a variety of reactions have been investigated. Theoretical calculations have been used efficiently to explain the stereo- and regioselectivities of cycloadditions, and also the substituent effect. The lecture aims to emphasize on how the theoretical calculations can supplement the experimental results in a fruitful manner.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
