Nach der Ansprache des Präsidenten Professor Hartmut Ihne sieht das Programm unter anderem die Verleihung des angesehenen Max-Buchner-Preises an Jennifer Pahlke, Absolventin des Bachelorstudiengangs Biology, vor. Überreicht wird der Preis durch Professor Hans Brunnhöfer von der Dechema, Gesellschaft für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie e. V.
Außerdem sorgt Andreas Hense, Professor für Wirtschaftsinformatik, mit der Präsentation des Forschungsprojektes "Publikation Umweltdaten" vielleicht ja für gutes Wetter. Das Projekt führt er gemeinsam mit seinem Namensvetter vom Meteorolischen Institut der Universität Bonn, dem Max-Planck-Institut für Meteorologie in Hamburg und mit finanzieller Förderung der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft durch.
Der Hochschulchor HörsaalEins führt musikalisch durch das Programm.
