Press Conference to the World Conference on Regenerative Medicine

From October 29th to October 31st, 2009 the World Conference on Regenerative Medicine (WRM) will once again take place. The international event will be held in Leipzig and will be organized and hosted again by the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology (IZI). Over 1.000 participants from research, clinics and industry are expected.

Regenerative Medicine with its manifold trend-setting subjects that span from Leipzig has achieved a very good reputation in the field of regenerative medicine over the past years. The Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI and the Translational Centre for Regenerative Medicine Leipzig (TRM) of the Universität Leipzig have contributed to that development.

In October to the World Conference on Regenerative Medicine (WRM) international scientists meet again in Leipzig to discuss recent scientific results in the field of regenerative medicine. This year's conference is subtitled "Tapping the Potential of Stem Cells". Satellite symposia of the WRM are the 1st International Meeting of the Veterinary Stem Cell Consortium, the 4th Fraunhofer Life Science Symposium, the HHL Health Care Challenge business plan competition to the topic "Future Healthcare" as well as the Forum Bioinformatics.

The top-class meeting shows the potential of regenerative medicine for human and veterinary medicine. The goal of the World Conference on Regenerative Medicine is to strengthen the exchange between re-search and clinical practice. Therefore the WRM is accompanied by a large industry exhibition.
