After an extraordinary academic career and a six-year term as President of the WZB, Jürgen Kocka is retiring from his Research Professorship "Historical Social Sciences" at the WZB, which he has held since 2007. In honor of his institutional and intellectual contributions, social scientists from different disciplines discuss the current state of capitalism and its future in the context of the Varieties of Capitalism theory and the current global crisis.
Jutta Allmendinger is currently President of the WZB.
Friedhelm Neidhardt preceded Jürgen Kocka as President of the WZB.
John Keane is a Research Professor of Theory and History of Democracy at the WZB.
David Soskice is a Research Professor of Political Science at Duke University.
Kathleen Thelen is a Ford Professor of Political Science at MIT.
Sigurt Vitols is Senior Research Fellow at the WZB Research Unit "Internationalization and Organization".
