Der Begriff »Sequential Art«, mit dem ursprünglich die narrative Abfolge von Bildern und Texten wie etwa in Comics gemeint ist, kann heute auch für die Analyse und Dekonstruktion neuester Phänomene angewendet werden. Umso mehr gilt dies für die interaktiven Netzwerke und Plattformen wie Myspace, Facebook und verwandte Internetforen, in denen der Eindruck narrativer Strukturen mit Hilfe einer endlosen Anreihung von scheinbar zurückverfolgbaren Informationsfragmenten geschaffen wird.
