Das Orient-Institut in Istanbul, 1987 von der Deutschen Morgenländischen Gesellschaft (DMG) als Abteilung des OI Beirut eingerichtet, wurde nach einer positiven Evaluierung durch den Wissenschaftsrat zum 1. Januar 2009 als selbständiges Institut in die institutionelle Förderung der Stiftung DGIA übernommen. Auf dem Deutschen Orientalistentag in Marburg soll diese Übernahme nun gefeiert werden. Den Festvortrag wird Prof. Dr. György Hazai, Turkologe und Gründungsrektor der Andrássy Universität in Budapest, halten.
Im Anschluss findet ein Stehempfang statt.
