Die Wanderausstellung „MenschMikrobe – Das Erbe Robert Kochs und die moderne Infektionsforschung“ der DFG gemeinsam mit dem Robert Koch-Institut (RKI) thematisiert eine schicksalhafte Gemeinschaft. Denn seit es den Menschen gibt, trägt er Bakterien und Viren, Pilze und Parasiten mit sich, auf seiner Haut, im Mund, im Darm. Die allermeisten Mikroben sind für den Menschen harmlos und viele sind sogar nützlich. Nur die wenigsten machen krank. Dann aber können sie zur Geißel werden – wie die Seuchen Pest und Cholera, Malaria, AIDS oder SARS.
