Mit dem neu gegründeten Danone-Stiftungslehrstuhl für Social Business entsteht an der EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht i.Gr. ein neues Kompetenz- und Forschungszentrum für innovative soziale Geschäftsmodelle, die darauf ausgerichtet sind, durch unternehmerisches Handeln, soziale Problemstellungen zu lösen. Ziel dieses in Deutschland einzigartigen Lehrstuhls ist es, die Entwicklung und die Umsetzung neuer unternehmerischer Ansätze des Social Business voranzutreiben und zu unterstützen.
Der Lehrstuhl ist angegliedert an das Center of Responsible Economy (CORE), das als interdisziplinäres universitätsübergreifendes Kernstück die Kompetenzen der EBS in den Bereichen Verantwortung und Nachhaltigkeit bündelt. Schirmherr des Lehrstuhls ist der Friedensnobelpreisträger Prof. Muhammad Yunus, auf den das Konzept des Social Business zurückzuführen ist.
