Interessant sind vor allem die Bandbreite und Alltagsnähe der Themen: Es geht unter anderem um die Signifikanz der deutschen Rapmusik, Comics, Besonderheiten beim Lernen von Deutsch als Zweitsprache sowie um das Verhältnis von Wort, Begriff und Phänomen am Beispiel von „Peinlichkeit“.
Der linguistische Nachwuchs soll so unterstützt werden. Über 100 junge Wissenschaftler und Promovierende aus Deutschland, den Niederlanden, der Schweiz und Belgien nutzen die Möglichkeit, mit anerkannten Wissenschaftlern zu diskutieren. Zudem werden erste Ergebnisse ihrer Projekte vorgestellt. Vorab gibt es Workshops zu qualitativen und quantitativen Forschungsmethoden.
