ZUR PERSON:
Jesper Larsson Träff, geboren 1961 in Kopenhagen, ist seit September 2010 Professor für Scientific Computing an der Universität Wien. 1989 Master of Science in Informatik (major) und Mathematik (minor) an der Universität Kopenhagen. 1990-92 Tätigkeit am European Computer-Industry Research Center, München. 1993-95 Doktoratsstudium am Institut für Informatik der Universität Kopenhagen. 1995-98 Postdoc am Max-Planck-Institut für Informatik der Universität des Saarlandes sowie am Lehrstuhl für theoretische Informatik der TU München. 1999-2009 Tätigkeit für NEC Laboratories Europe, Bonn, mitverantwortlich u.a. für die effiziente Implementierung des Message Passing Interface (MPI) für zwei Generationen des japanischen Earth Simulators. 2009 Habilitation an der Universität Kopenhagen. Seit 2010 wissenschaftlicher Koordinator des EU-Projektes PEPPHER (Performance Portability and Programmability for Heterogeneous Many-core Architectures) in der Forschungsgruppe für Scientific Computing der Fakultät für Informatik an der Universität Wien.
Forschungsschwerpunkte: Message Passing Interface (MPI), Parallele Schnittstellen, Algorithmen und Architekturen.
