In order to account for the growing performance and importance of numerical simulation, the SimOrtho will concentrate on relevant topics of the field of Orthopaedic Biomechanics.
All interested scientists who perform finite-elementanalysis, multi-body-simulation, static and dynamic approaches as well as co-simulation are heartly invited to register for the upcoming meeting. Other parties interested in numerical simulation, especially clinicians, are encouraged to join in.
The host of SimOrtho, the Biomechanics and Implant Technology Research Laboratory ‚FORBIOMIT‘ is part of the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Rostock. Therefore, the scientific input of orthopaedic surgeons can be incorporated in research on a very short communication path. However, making the results understandable and drawing clinical relevance from numerical simulation is quite challenging. Sharing experience in the cooperation of scientists of different groups and clinicians shall be a key topic of our meeting.
Nevertheless, we also want to discuss new methods and programs with limited primary focus on clinical relevance which have promising potential in orthopaedic biomechanics.
Evaluation of failed implants becomes more and more important in terms of numerical simulation. It is our aim to share experience in failure analysis as well as evaluation of worst case scenarios which appear beyond standard testing.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Rostock in August 2011!

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
