In modern biology and biotechnology, concepts from molecular and systems biology, process engineering, and economy have to be combined for the development of efficient biotechnological processes. To enable biologists, biotechnologists, and biochemical engineers to pursue this interdisciplinary challenge, it is mandatory to strengthen both the mathematical skills of biologists and the engineers' knowledge of basic biological concepts and nomenclatures.
The Young Biotechnology Researchers' Network of the Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology DECHEMA devised a summer school schedule that allows participants to familiarize themselves with the appropriate concepts, strategies and tools. Along the example of renewable resource conversion, biologists will learn how engineering approaches can help them in planning, performing and evaluating experiments, whereas engineers get insight into state-of-the-art measurement techniques that feed their models.
The course consists of formal lectures, workshops, and tutorials for hands-on expertise with state-of-the-art tools.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
