The financial crisis brought into sharp relief the tight connections among the interests of major financial institutions, corporates, customers and governments. Hit hard by the crisis Citi undertook a great restructuring to position itself for the future. Today Citi is well positioned for growth. The driving force behind the culture of the new Citi is Responsible Finance. It is defined by the interests of Citi’s shareholders, customers, colleagues and the communities. The speech will combine insights about Citi’s progress over the last years and the challenges the bank faces in the new and changing environment and also describe Citi’s approach to the critical intersection of interests among the different stakeholders, in order to build shareholder value – and preserve it, all based on the idea of Responsible Finance.
