Prof. Dr. Mojib Latif, 1954 in Hamburg geboren, studierte Meteorologie und promovierte 1989 an der Universität Hamburg in Ozeanographie. Er ist einer der meist gefragten Klimaexperten, zählt zu den Autoren der IPCC-Berichte und gilt als führender Spezialist für Computermodelle, die das Klima der Zukunft errechnen. Seit 2003 ist er Professor an der Universität zu Kiel, wobei eines seiner Forschungsschwerpunkte die anthropogenen Einflüsse auf das Klima darstellt. Durch die Veröffentlichung zahlreicher Studien zum Klimawandel, die er klar strukturiert, spannungsreich und gut nachvollziehbar darlegt, wurde er ein gefragter Interviewpartner im Fernsehen und Radio und wurde u.a. mit dem Max-Planck-Preis für öffentliche Wissenschaft ausgezeichnet.
