Das zweitägige Symposium versammelt renommierte deutsche und US-amerikanische Wissenschaftler, um das Potential der Netzwerkanalyse für die Amerikanistik zu erkunden und kritisch zu reflektieren. Keynote Speaker sind Jay D. Bolter, Professor am Georgia Institute of Technology, Prof. Dr. Wendy Hui Kyong Chun von der Brown University sowie Dr. Patrick Jagoda von der University of Chicago. Die Beiträge beschäftigen sich mit Zusammenhängen zwischen neuen Medien, Literatur-, Kultur- und Naturwissenschaften und erproben dabei theoretische, kulturwissenschaftliche sowie politische Implikationen des Netzwerks als Metapher, interdisziplinärem Paradigma, ästhetischer Strategie sowie kommunikativer Praxis.

Die Tagung findet auf Englisch statt und ist öffentlich. Angehörige der Uni Mannheim zahlen keinen Teilnehmerbeitrag, für externe Gäste wird bei der Registrierung ein Beitrag von 20 Euro erhoben. Wir bitten um kurze Anmeldung im Vorfeld unter adrei@mail.uni-mannheim.de.
