Am 25. und 26. August findet die 7. FrOSCon in der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg statt. Die FrOSCon (Free and Open Source Software Conference) ist die größte Open-Source-Conference in NRW. Jedes Jahr werden im Fachbereich Informatik Vorträge gehalten und Workshops angeboten für Besucher aller Altersklassen. Eine Ausstellung mit Ständen von Open-Source Projekten und Firmen, die in dem Bereich tätig sind, rundet das Angebot ab.
Am Samstagabend gibt es ein Social Event, wo sich Besucher, Vorträger, Helfer und Helferinnen austauschen und feiern können. Die FrOSCon wird veranstaltet vom Fachbereich Informatik in Kooperation mit der Fachschaft Informatik, der Linux/Unix User Group Sankt Augustin (Luusa) und dem FrOSCon e.V.
