Der Begriff der Menschenrechte wird in der muslimischen Welt oft anders als im Westen definiert: Ein Diskurs, dem sich die westlichen Staaten stellen müssen. An der Universität Innsbruck findet Mitte Juni eine internationale Tagung zu dieser Frage statt zu der herausragende Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler anreisen: So der frührere Richter am Internationalen Gerichtshof und jordanische Ex-Premierminister Awn S. Al-Khasawneh, die bekannte amerikanische Islamwissenschaftlerin Asma Afsaruddin von der Indiana University und Abdul Ghafur Hamid von der International Islamic University in Malaysien.
