Ziel der von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft finanzierten Veranstaltung ist es, die Verflechtungen von Transnationalisierungsprozessen und Geschlecht auf gesellschaftlicher Makro-, Meso- und Mikroebene zu beleuchten. Drei thematische Schwerpunkte werden dabei gesetzt: (I) das Feld der Normen, Normierungen und Identitäten, (II) das Feld der Arbeit und Organisationen sowie (III) das Feld der Erkenntnis und der Wissensproduktion.
Vortragende sind u.a. Prof. Raewyn Connell (Australien), Prof. Jeff Hearn (Finnland), Prof. Sarah J. Mahler (USA), Prof. Maria Do Mar Castro Varela (Deutschland) sowie Prof. Ilse Lenz (Deutschland).
