International conference on translational research in biomedicine – challenges and good practice

Translational research in the biomedical field has received increasing attention in recent years. Internationally, translational research initiatives are proliferating, and different models how to conduct effective and efficient translation from bench to bedside and vice versa are being implemented.

The “International conference on translational research in biomedicine – challenges and good practice” will provide a forum to discuss critical success factors of translational research, good practice, appropriate forms of governance and how the promises of translational research in biomedicine can be fulfilled. Results from the tri-national project “Translational research in genomic medicine: Institutional and social aspects (Tri-Gen)” will be presented and critically discussed in order to understand how this new policy priority re-configures (or not) national biomedical innovation systems, governance and research practices.

The international and interdisciplinary conference will bring together directors of translational research initiatives, biomedical researchers, clinicians, representatives of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, experts in health technology assessment, patient organisations, policy-makers, as well as social scientists.

Detailed information on the conference is available here http://www.isi-projekt.de/wissprojekt-de/trigen/inhalte/final-conference.php

Participation is free of charge. As places are limited, a registration by E-Mail to silke.just@isi.fraunhofer.de until November 5, 2012 is mandatory. Travel costs will not be reimbursed.

Translational Research in Genomic Medicine: Institutional and Social Aspects (Tri-Gen) is a tri-national research project funded by the ELSA-Gen initiative.

Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
